Thomas W. Peatman, MD

About Us: Staff Information

Sarah Langbein, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Sarah spent many years perfecting her professional and interpersonal skills to become a highly qualified orthopedic PA.

She is a licensed physical therapist, which gives her excellent hands-on assessment of musculoskeletal conditions. She was a family practice PA, which affords her a good understanding of the medical basis of the orthopedic and non-orthopedic conditions that affect our patients. She also spent two years as a PA in an Emergency Department, taking care of the non-lifethreatening illnesses and injuries that are so common in the E.R, including fractures, dislocations, sprains, and lacerations. Finally, she spent several years in a University orthopedic department, working alongside the resident surgeons and attendings to care for the orthopedic needs of the local urban population.

Sarah will often meet with you first to assess your condition, gather information and make an initial assessment. Then, in conference with Dr. Peatman, and after his examination, she may be the one to give injections, order tests or medications, and explain possible treatment options. Working closely together, Sarah is a well-trained extension of Dr. Peatman. However, Dr. Peatman will make or confirm the diagnosis, and govern the treatment plan. Many patients enjoy seeing both Sarah and Dr. Peatman on their visits.

Sarah assists on most surgical procedures. She renews medications and manages the medical clearance process for joint replacements.
